Regurgitating

I recently bought 2 budgies(not tame) and they have since started to regurgitate for each other(as the parents feed babies). They are both young I'm pretty sure one is a male, but I am not to sure about the other.

My question is will birds of the same gender regurgitate for each other or does it usually only happen with male/female pairs?

yes they will regurgitate for same sex but normally its for opposite sex so keep an eye out to make sure they arent mating and they will regurgitate for you too if they really love you my lovebird tries to do it for me!

I was kind of hoping they were male and female, but I don't really care either way. I don't have any plans to breed them. I try to discourage my lovebird from having feelings like that towards me haha.

They do it for the ones they love be it a mate or a friend! so theres no way of knowing for sure my budgies do that but there male and female.

My 2 budgies regurgitate for each over and they are both males. As long as it goes into the mouth and they arnt doing it randomly over the floor it's normal .

Ya they are getting it in each others mouths, and as soon as I find my camera I will post some pictures haha.
