2 male Budgies and a female Cockatiel
Hey all

Well Ive known that website is garbage for a while but now Ive decided its time to reject modernity and embrace tradition. Im an owner of 3 birds, 2 rescues and one from a professional breeder.

My cockatiel Blaze, who is now 6 years old, was my first rescue back in November of 2020. Her owner was an elderly woman who brokee hip and had to give up Blaze and her Macaw. she is a certified daddy's girl, and unbelievably sweet and gentle for a female.

The following year in Jan of 2022, I adopted my budgie Blu, who is now 5 years old. After a year, Blu's true personality came out and after a lot of brainstorming and hard work keeping everyone happy, I decided it was best to get him a brother who could match his energy level. Blaze simply did not want to play with him as badly as he did.

I adopted my English budgie, Bijou, in July of 2024. Bijou was just about 8 weeks old when I took him home. He began to regress and stopped taking food. A vet trip showed a positive result for AGY, and determined he was very underweight. Thankfully he took formula at the clinic, but as soon as he got home began refusing the $80 bag of formula I just bought him and wouldnt eat. I anxiously waited and syringe fed him ulcer/antifungal meds for up to 5 weeks (by the time he finished his amphotericin B). After a couple days, I found the right diet and presentation for him to begin slowly eating, and day by day he regained his weight and strength, and slowly began to trust and bond with me. And in no time he became the chatter box and circus clown of the house, hardly able to leave his toys alone for a second. He has bonded with his brother and I great, so long as I permit him unrestricted access to my head as a landing pad.

I work quite a bit, but I love gaming, skating, reading, writing and listening to music, watching movies, and so much more in my free time. I volunteer at a large parrot rescue nearby when I have time. Bijou's high toy demand has forced me to begin making a lot of toys, and I plan to open up an etsy shop.

Anyway, good to be here!

Pretty pretty birds :D. Thanks for the pictures, too! And hello from Central Canada! :D.

Your birds are lucky and beautiful, too. I'm so glad your English boy got better and the two budgies are best friends and they both hang out with you, too. I have 6 English budgies plus 13 Americans and they keep me on my toes!

Welcome to you and your beautiful birds.
