Is red palm oil good for birds? Will it cause heart problems?

Sorry! Hit send before I was ready.

But it’s a fat, and fat in birds diets should be kept to a minimum. So “less is more” truly applies.

I'm not a big fan of this group of additives as adding to much is way to easy...

And, then there is the Why and What are you adding it too? Parrots rarely need additions when providing a healthy diet. We only apply an additive if a recent full spectrum blood screen notes an issue that cannot be solve by an adjustment in the diet.

Parrots eat the palm nuts in the wild, so it's okay for most species to have. Mine get a tiny dab daily. And I mean tiny. They LOVE it!

If you decide to go with red palm oil, check the label to see that it's habitat friendly. Nutiva carries organic red palm oil harvested from trees grown on family farms.
