Quietest and loudest bird you own?

I only have Kiko for right now, so technically he's my loudest bird. xP
He has a surprisingly LOUD voice for his size. He's quite most of the day, but tends to make kissy sounds and says Peekaboo under his covers in the morning. And he usually screams for about 3 minutes after I leave the room and head downstairs.

Hummingbird, screech owl.

The hummingbird hums and the screech owl screeches?

Actually, hummingbirds are quite common where I live. I've heard them make a short "tick...tick...tick" I think it's a warning or defensive sound? I'm not sure if they make any other noise. That's the only thing I've heard from them, and it's not loud, but you can definitely hear it when you're outside or the window is open.

Screech Owl, I don't know lol.

A little OT, but birders mimic screech owls when they want to get birds to come out for viewing. When you make the sound of a screech owl (you should Google it, it's very cool) they come to investigate the sound.

Karen, are you good at it? :D

My hubby can do the screech owl call and has successfully called in owls. It's really awesome.

To the OP: Loudest by VOLUME they can make, its Iris the BFA of course, but by frequency, she's the quietest. Loudest daily; Finnella the budgie, hands down.

No, I suck, but there's an app for that :) Just a disclaimer, you should never use it during breeding season and some wildlife protected areas prohibit the use of bird calls.

Interesting about not using it during breeding season lol that would be mean haha.

I didn't listen to the screech owl sound... I was in a restsurant. I didn't want everyone to stop and stare... :52:

This went a bit off the topic, I guess. :) But if is fun to read your posts. Oddly enough my loudest guy is one of the budgies, but the most obnoxious is the cockatiel when he starts screaming (he only does it when something goes wrong, otherwise he is super quiet). My gcc can be loud at times, but he screams very seldom. My lovebird is the quietest - she sometimes makes some cool high-pitched chirps which I love. But the budgies - OMG!! they are louder than my grand piano, and there louder I play there louder they go until I have to take them outside to be able to practice! :D They also mimic all my other bird noises.

I know! People who've never had Budgies can't imagine such a loud noise from such a small thing! When I first got them less than 2 years ago, I was so surprised at the screeching! The twittering I don't mind, but he's my noisest bird too.

Quietest is my Kakariki. :green1: They're known to be quiet but when they're excited they make hilarious noises. But overall sweet and easy on the ears.

My past lovebirds were sooo obnoxious. Loved them so much but boy would they scream and screech! Couldn't concentrate on my work LOL would have to leave the room for a bit. But may they rest in peace. They were beautiful birds I owned individually at points in my bird owning lifetime. :yellow2::blue2:

The loudest bird I own are a tie between my cockatoo and amazon, the can make your ears ring. The quietest is my budgies but once they get going they can be pretty loud too.

Loudest by volume would be my galah, when she does her gymnastics or if she yells if she falls down or something and gets a fright, but she does that infrequently and it's only a short burst of activity.

My loudest as in noisiest would be one of my weiros who learnt the sound of the electric drill I was using to fix my galah's cage. She treats us to that from time to time and it's quite loud. They do make other noises but to tell you the truth, I don't really notice because I don't find any of it annoying. They sing, and chirp and chatter about something (I can't understand what they are saying, but Tony is very earnest about it, I just agree with him). Only the drill performance is a bit loud and attracts the attention. I actually prefer it when they are all carrying on, when they are quiet I worry about them.
