So I had started training a Quaker who was born on the 31/10/13, he is progressing well. I got the tips off Birdtricks.com. TREAT TREAT TREAT, positive reinforcement is the absolute key. I have the quaker playing hide and seek, as in I yell "here" from another room and he comes searching for me. Finds me and jumps up onto the shoulder.

I have taught him when I say "twist", he knows to do a 360 on the perch. I have also taught him "gym" and "cage" and he knows to fly to the gym or cage, whichever I say. He is progressing well now with "Eagle" in that he spreads his wings right out, still a bit to go but getting there well and truly. I also can say "Quake" and he does his little head bobbing and wing thing. Very cute, I read somewhere that Quakers grow out of this behaviour of quaking and I dont want that to happen so I have added it to his tricks arsenal.

I have also begun his basketball training, placing a ball in a cup which is also going well but is in the early stages. I was surprised at just how easy it is to get these feathers to do what you want them to do. I absolutely support positive reinforcement and the treating method. :)

How awesome is that???? :D

Sounds like you've made great progress!
