My quaker is approximately 23-24 years old. Ive noticed the aging taking its toll over the last year or so when it comes to general liveliness and overall behavior. I do everything I can to make him comfortable. Lately Ive noticed he makes a squeaking noise or perhaps he is wheezing. Sometimes It sounds like its in tune with his breathing but other times its random and different tones/pitches.. It happens quite often when he is eating but it certainly does not slow him down while he is eating.

I couldn't open the attachments to listen to the sound. If you have access to an avian vet I would bring him in to check his breathing. Birds can get treatable illnesses that make them wheeze. I had a budgie with airsaculitis (yup, it's what vets call it, like bronchitis, appendicitis and any other "itis") and it was treated with antibiotics. He may be fine and just making a funny sounding noise but if he's sick you don't want to wait until he's obviously sick or it may be too late.

Your bird reminds me of my Quaker who is a similar age ❤️. Does he exhibit any other signs of trouble breathing like tail bobbing? I can’t really see in the video. That noise is hard for me to judge; sometimes it sounds like he’s just making squeaky noises but then the consistency does seem to somewhat line up with his breathing. Does he make the noise all the time or just occasionally?

It sounds like little squeaks. He may just be making this sound as part of his vocalizations. I would do as Jcas says and watch his tail as he breathes. Does his tail bob up and down? That's a sign of respiratory distress.

The noise he makes typically only occurs while eating. However, the video from today on the couch was the first time I heard that noise while he wasn't eating which is why I made the video.

I haven't noticed the tail moving in sync with the noises but I cant say it was something I was paying attention to. Ill keep a closer eye now
