Thank you. Yes, Rio was a pineapple green cheek. River, my current green cheek is from the same parents that Rio was (different clutch).

What a special connection for you! That would help to heal my heart for sure!

Adorable!! How did you come up with the name?

Although I will never forget Rio, River has definately helped heal my heart! River got his name from his brother too. Rio means River in Portuguese/Spanish. QuackQuack is definately a unique and fun name!

QuackQuack is a rescue so he came with that name! He also came with the ability to say, "QuackQuack I'm a duck!" He was evidently the child and roommate to a mentally handicapped man his whole life. The man became ill and had to be hospitalized long term and QuackQuack here found me when I visited the rescue to find a prospective eternal toddler :D It does make me laugh that his name is "QuackQuack" and when he says it the irony kills me LOL He is a very unique bird. He will not use his beak even as a hand. He is very gentle and very quiet, but he does talk! He talks a lot! He's a big perch potato! :green:

What a cutie!! Did you get Quack Quack from the Iowa Parrot Rescue? They are very awesome there and a few months ago I was looking at Quack Quack. I had learned that Quack favored men so he would of not worked out here as only woman live here. I am SO glad that Quack found a home! I would love to hear more about him.

It is the same QuackQuack! He does seem to really love my husband, but he is pretty content with me all day. We get into some shenanigans LOL he watches me cook and samples the fare and makes messes for me to clean. He just jumped in my bath tub tonight! As soon as my husband comes home, he starts showcasing his vocabulary and colors with excitement! He will come to me from my husband and isn't aggressive if he hugs me. I would describe his preference as a polite statement. He was well socialized before. I believe the owner lived in a village type situation with activities for similar people and Quack went with him. We are buying a new cage for him this week because he's settled in now, and if you remember, his cage was wildly inappropriate for an amazon. I hope it goes well!
