--PUMPKIN - male YS GCC. Hatched Halloween Day 2014. Came home Jan. 4, 2015. Started talking in July '15!

-BUTTERNUT- female TYS GCC Hatched in late Jan. 2016 and came home March 14, 2016
So Pumpkins secondary cage is in my bedroom, as is his play gym. This cage is a cheap finch flight cage and didnt come with a stand. I had it on top of one of my dogs kennels and his gym along a wall to be able to hang toys. Pumpkin was TAKING OVER my room. I decided today that I wanted to consolidate everything into one area of my bedroom so that I could just leave the cage open and he could come and go as he pleases. No more carrying him back and forth. It also takes up a lot less space having everything together along one wall. Hopefully you all like my idea, let me know if you see any safety hazards (ive never worked with PVC before).

Love it... How are pumpkins flying lessons going...

Kiwi has mastered corners and now flies back and forth to and from her cage and tree to her hanging play stand. She is becoming very proficient for not having all her flight feathers yet...

Well he lost the only flight feather on one wing in a fall. Now he is growing a seconf flight feather on the other side... go figure! So hes really lopsided right now. I am still trying but hes happier going SLOOOWWW apparently. I asked him to fly to me from 2 feet this morning and he wouldnt so i left him on his main cage and walked out of the room. A few minutes later hes talking to me from my feet. He had climbed down and walked across the floor to another room to follow me.... so yea flight training..... going slow. Lol sorry, rant over.

Great set up! Lucky Pumpkin (who I think I spy on the left side of the cage upside-down playing with a toy?).

Great job, Ann! Wow, Pumpkin has a birdie wonderland to keep him busy! I see the little cutie in two photos.

Well SOMEONE is certainly spoiled:54: That is an amazing play stand/cage/bird area! Pumpkin must be so pleased.

Slow is definately okay. Once those feathers come in pumpkin will be soaring. How cute that he climbed down to follow you. Where there's a will there is a way. Don't give up.

Holy crap!!! I won't show this to my fids.... I'll look like a horrible mom!

What an awesome structure! I'm incredibly jealous. I'd love to build something like that for my birds. I mustn't let Avery see this, or she'll get very sassy with me and demand why Pumpkin has one and she doesn't...

Wow thanks everyone. He does like i!. He was on it playing before i was finished. He likes to helphehe. I'm very glad he doesn't seem to be scared of anything.

I want to buy that vet/ medical tape eventually too but I couldn't find any yesterday (small town). This structure cost me $21.47! PVC is very cheap! And it was soooooo easy!
