We're waiting at the vet office right now.

He seemed perfectly normal for most of the day. We were at my boyfriend's house and he and his friends were doing a lot of yard work.

Then he threw up once, and then seemed fine. A few minutes later, he started throwing up more. He would bounce his head to try to throw up, then take a break and sit there all puffed up, repeat.

The only vet I could find that speciaizes in birds that's open on Sunday evening was 40 minutes away, but here we are. He hasn't thrown up in a little over an hour, but he's still sitting all puffed up, with no interest in playing with stuff or anything...

The vet said that he has some sort of obstruction. The crop sample didn't show anything, but he reccommended antibiotics and a disestive stimulant (baytril and metaclopramide). If it doesn't help, he suggests x rays to see if something is blocking it.

Right now Puck is sleeping, but he hasn't thrown up since he was at the vet (he threw up at the vet during the exam), and I was able to give him his meds pretty easily.

I'm very sad and upset to hear what happened. :-(

My thoughts and prayers will be with Puck and you. Hope his vomiting has stopped and whatever it was that was causing the obstruction has gone. Fingers crossed that it wasn't anything toxic.

It's so good you picked it up early and brought him to the spe******t vet so promptly! Puck is lucky to be well taken care of.

Hope you and Puck can get a good night's rest and wake up to good news in the morning!

Get well soon, Puck!

Thank you guys. He's been sleeping. I gave him his meds and took out his water food/water dishes so his meds didn't get diluted, and so it didn't keep piling on top of the obstruction. I just fed and watered him a little bit because he pooped, so his tubes are working somewhat. He does have an appetite, and an attitude still, lol. I'll give his second dose of meds later this evening.

You and Puck are in my thoughts and prayers! Hope he's better soon! :)

Remy, sorry to hear this about poor little Puck.

Just a little tip that may help. I once had to treat a Quaker (Not Mine) that had a partial blockage in his intestines, I had to feed him hand rearing formula so it was easy for him to digest. This went on for about 6 months until the blockage was completely gone.

So sorry to hear about Puck... Will be thinking of you both...

Just adding my get well wishes for a speedy recovery little Puck and hope your Mommy is ok as well.

Thank you everyone! He seems like he's feeling a lot better today. He's acting all hyper, grooming, and isn't letting me sleep in, lol. This morning when I got up to give him his meds his crop was empty, so that's good. I did hear him spit up a little earlier, and i saw him bob his head like he was gonna throw uo, but that time he didn't.

Now he's back to causing trouble again! Seriously, I can't get him to stay put right now. In the time it took me to type this, he's climbed on my pillows, on the headboard, the curtains, jumped on my phone twice, climbed on my head... he wasn't doing this yesterday. Now if only he would let me sleep! Lol.

I'm sure you'd rather Puck was healthy and active than a lie in ;)

Glad to hear he seems to be feeling a bit better. Hope it stays that way xx

Yes, I'm glad that he's feeling better. He usually lets me sleep in though.

Now he's snuggling under my sweater. I'm not sure if he's feeling 100% yet, but he's definitely better than last night.

I guess I got lucky giving his meds. He actually seems to like them, and keeps licking the syringe for more.

Thats wonderful to hear!!!!!! Im glad hes doing better. Did they put additive in the med to make it taste better? Years ago thats what my vet did so they would take it. :)

Oh, that is nice! I've had to find creative ways to put it on food and get them to eat every bit. My birds are much too old to remember their handfeeding days (and Pete being wild caught maybe never had any?).
