After Barney almost hating me from picking him up and moving him and messing with him before he has settled in I believe I have started to earn his trust again, I still cannot pick him up but he is much less aggressive with me he doesn't puff up or attempt to bite when I am around. He doesn't seem to like being pet much either which I am ok with. I think I have come to realize that he is just not going to be such a cuddly bird. He still gets out of the cage time though he is out from when I wake up until bed time. Which I think he enjoys I don't believe he will ever want to come out and play with his humans

Where does Barney spend his out of cage time? On his cage top or play stand? I'd suggest putting him on a table with a selection of toys and things to munch on. Sit by him and speak to him occasionally, offering treats and scratches (if he'll accept them). It takes time, but he'll come round, I bet. My ferocious old Galah has learned to love waddling around my kitchen benches and taste-testing everything he finds along the way. It's been a few months now and he still lunges at me every time I come near, but he'll accept a treat from me and will even allow me to scratch his head if I'm quick and careful in my approach. Don't give up! Just be super patient and keep trying! :)

That is great that he is doing better. But I agree that you just need to give it time and patience and I bet her will come around. You are doing a good job. My grey is not touchy feely but he has his moments. A cuddle bug he is not be we have a great relationship in either case!
