Green Cheeked Conure: Kiwi

Pacific Green Rumped Parrotlet: Peeps
Hey guys i'm loving my new conure, but one problem i'm having with him is this: Peeps likes to make his little chirps and every time Kiwi hears that he really shrieeks. I'm afraid that they might do that when the quarantine is over and they can be next to eachother. Any idea's on how to fix this? Thanks

I don't think that'll happen once quarantine is over. =) From what I've read, it's flock calling and the response is a way to say 'I'm here! Come find me! I can't see you!'
If I'm wrong, I apologize. XD I really hope they don't continue it once they're in the same room.

Here's my two cents, play some soothing music when Kiwi starts to shriek. When Mishka makes sounds I dislike, I play some cd's or music, she forgets what she was doing and concentrates on what is being play.
Hope this helps, you know me and me "bird brain" LoL

Thanks guys, I guess we'll see. :) I can't wait to entroduce them!

I'm not sure if that's a good idea to play music for mishka every time she shrieks though. I mean think about it like this: It makes her be quiet but eventually she'll shriek because she knows you'll play music for her, which she likes. I might be wrong but if it's worked for you and you have no problem with it then there's nothing I can do. :)

I use the same method and it works really well. Although I know the times of day when Eddie is likely to start screaming so I turn the music/radio on a bit earlier so it doesn't act as a 'reward'.

The calling may or may not continue after quarantine. My Ekkie copies my tiels call all day (at 5 x the volume:rolleyes:) and they are both in the same room.
