It is quite warm out today, so after our nice walk today I decided Mr. kiwi could do with a nice bath. Well, as he drip-dried in the sunshine, looking every bit the drowned rat, he decided to start dancing and shaking his tail. My laughter at his antics got my hubby interested enough to come out, so he took Kiwi for a nice (assisted) 'flight' around the deck. And of course out little party ended with kisses all around:D

(please excuse my hair, we just got back from a walk):

I love those pics of the three of you :) the happy family! Beautiful photos.

Awwwww!!!!!! Kisses for mommy and daddy! [emoji173]️ he's still very handsome even with his drowned rat look [emoji6]

Love it! Great pics.

Those were great !!!! How the heck do you keep him from going anywhere?

Awesome pictures, and fun to get to see your Hubby get in on the act!

Aww. Kiwi makes 'drowned rat' look good. ;) Love the photos!

He's so cute, I love the kissy face ones. I love wet feathered pics. They look so funny like that. He doesn't try to fly away? (Actually Gilbert doesn't really either, he flies TO me, but the occasional noisy helicopter causes a freak bolt sometimes.)

As far as we know Kiwi never learned to fly and has been clipped his whole life (except a brief period we let his flight feathers grow out, which didn't go well). He also tends to hang close to us, and stays where we put him. I do hover over him outside, like I am practically sitting on him lol. He is very rarely spooked by anything, we have very much trained him to not overreact to frightening new objects/sounds. He is also super adorable and loves his outdoor time:D

As Georgie got older I took her outside clipped too because she basically just hung out with me. (She was a Velcro bird anyhow, not adventurous!)

Kiwi does look pretty darn cute and I am always partial to amazons. :)

He's such a beauty. I'm sooo infatuated with amazons. I need to find someone near me who has one so I can get my fix, I don't feel like id be the right home for one, but I do adore them!!
(Btw you have some great options for the 'fun in the sun' POTM from this photo shoot ;) )

So pretty.

Beautiful family shots, April! I always enjoy your Kiwi pics. Cool how you caught him "shakin' his tail feathers"! Nice!

Maybe this is weird, but this photo series makes me wish we all lived closer together so we could have "bird people hangouts." Your Kiwi could meet my Kiwi!

I think that would be so fun! Always hard to find like-minded people nearby. It's like the universe spreads the bird people out thin lol.

We are really lucky because one of our closest friends is a total bird person too. She has a Quaker (and she manages a vet's office)...most of the time we spend hanging out together consists of oohing and aahing over her bird or ours, or trips to the bird farm where they all came from.
