Hi guys! Thank you so much for your prayers and concern!!!
I feel like I've been hit by a dump truck.
Was having a GREAT ride, and as I was getting ready to canter Dakotah spooked, jumped into the air, did a 180 and took off like bat out of hell. I should have probably been better prepared because he's done this MANY times, but I was too complacent yesterday, and did not expect this at all. Well, I went airborne and landed on my right side.
All the wind was knocked out of me, and it took a good while to catch my breath. When I tried sitting up I felt my right shoulder was hurting. When I tried standing up I felt my right hip - and let's just say it was painful beyond description.
Linda (instructor) helped me get into my car and I drove him (I live 5 minutes from the stables). NOBODY was home!!! I broke down, sat in my car and just cried. Made it into the house and somehow managed to get my boots off.
Called the husband, who was picking out car parts with our son at nearby junk yards. They got home about 30 minutes later.
Hubby helped me get out of clothes, and into a steaming hot tub with Epsom Salts. I also took 2 heavy duty pain killers at that time that I had from my dentist. I felt NO pain in the bath tub.
Then I got nauseous from the pain meds.
Lounged around downstairs, unable to get comfortable. My lower right sternum and ribs hurt pretty badly when I would breathe deeply, coughed and/or sneezed, but my hip was just the worst.
Told hubby I would need to go to ER if I didn't feel any better in the morning. Had a VERY rough night!! Each time I'd turn I'd be up from the pain. Fell asleep some time after 3AM and slept until 8AM. That NEVER happens!

I haven't slept past 7 in ages!!!
Chest is most improved this morning!!! I can breathe and cough now and it barely hurts. Shoulder is pretty sore. Hip still hurts quite badly, but I doubt anything is broken since I CAN walk. The MOST comfortable position for me is to sit like a Native American...if that makes any sense at all.
It's been over 30 years since I've fallen from a horse....but I'm pretty sure it's gonna take a "little" while for this Humpty Dumpty to feel "normal" again.
