Most likely the stress of being egg bound, having them expressed, travel back and forth to the vet and finally the stress of chasing and catching her (which is a huge stress for a prey animal like a budgie) all added up and she died of a heart failure. Only a full necropsy of her remains would be able to tell, and unless you refrigerated her body, its too late for that. That is my best g

Thank you for your kind reply. You're probably right. I keep thinking about what I should have done differently. I didn't think trying to catch her would be that stressful as we've done it a lot before. I just feel gutted that I couldn't take better care of her. I hope this never happens to my other female bird.
