Hi all I love to own a pet a lot I tried to adopt a lot of them and now am planning to have a cag but I want ur advice guys because it gonna be my first time to train a parrot and about me am interested a lot to teach her or him how to fly and how to do tricks more than teaching how to talk ...
so please any advice guys and what is the best age to choose...
Am really sorry for my bad English because I burned in Arabic country and am living ther , its my first time to join an english forum

I am sorry but I can't help you - I don't actually train any of my birds to do any tricks.

I also never specifically trained for "tricks" but trained more how to politely fit in as a family member. A few little tricks were learned along the way, and any bird i ever had who learned to talk, basically learned it on his own. (Both birds i had who could talk learned "you're a good boy" as a first phrase. I swear it's because i always said it with enthusiasm, telling them basically how much i loved and approved of them.)

With talking, i would guess the best advice is to build the relationship with the bird, and be very expressive when you talk to keep them interested in what you say. I tend to talk to my pets in a really goofy, animated tone, and i find they really pay attention to it.

I don't teach them tricks but Willie learned a few on his own....if I wave at him he will lift one wing up and wave at me. I tell him big eagle and raise both of my hands he would raise both wing in full and say Big Eagle. If he wants to eat something that I'm eating he would go mmmmm want a bite. He proceed to eat it and go mmmmmm and does his little dance. I never just teach him to do tricks cause that's not what he's here for....he just does it on his own....

Ya I'd love to make him owner pet only because I want him to be with me only not with the family so I guess I have to stay with him or her for along time to let him learn more from me any way thanks for the reply and it was useful for me
