Ta dah has not gained any weight throughout this. Today lost 2 more grams down to 67...9.7% weight-loss
Vet said start hand feeding formula....git bit
Urine green again..
The suspension of azithromyacin, the particles want to settle out stick on sides and rim of bottle. Ta-dah only gets one drop of medicine. 0.1ml so it's possible she hasn't gotten a consistent dose. I had spoken about this while back so she increased concentration meds, and raised everyone to their max dose....but otherwise no changes.
Ta dah has been eating. The formula will have to be forced, and she is not like Penny, its hard to get it in her........next time I will see if she will steal it from the bowl like she did before when I fed Penny. I offered her a bowl but she didn't take it. So I need her to be jealous maybe to steal....work in progress. Will also offer warm stuff abd try hand feed favorites to see if I can up her calories. Moving her cage so she can share the heat from my heat panel...first time I've need more than one.....gosh darn it all.....you thst hsve followed, know I've commented every day that she hadn't been gaining any weight bsck like everyone else, even budgies gained weight

Penny looks good, Laura! I think she is smiling. You are doing such a great job caring for your flock.

I agree Penny looks plenty pleased with herself! She flew to the top of the refrigerator, as she knows much harder for mommy to get her down from there.

Yay Penny, I'm so proud of you! C'mon Ta-dah, my favourite Floridian niece! I guess she is just a few days behind Penny in the cycle of her illness. You be a good girl and take your meds and eat all the yummy food your mom gives you, ok?? More big hugs coming your way Laura, please pass some on to sweet little Ta-dah for me won't you? :)

Ta-dah is biting every joint for maximum pain...
I weighed the formula its a gram per ml, I weighed Ta-dah before and after force feeding. So she took 2ml or 2 grams of food.
If I hadn't done that I would have thought I got none in her!!! As she bites the syringe , I out in a drop. She spit shakes head, formula goes flying......

Because Pikachu is also low on weight even though he is gaining every day. I decided to offer him some. He took 2 ml no fighting, he is a very very sweet natured parrot. He is sweet to everyone he meets.

Penny was so debilitated, and starved when I started her feeding...

So I don't know if it is a quaker thing , vs a green cheek , or just each ones personality....

But it's gone be bloody to feed Ta dah! She is so peeved she us ripping up everything in her cage.

Her poops before feeding had changed to unformed ( diarrhea) stool, but not green urine like earlier,
from over night ..

So this saga will continue
Vet will get back to me. But I think the azithromyacin will continue fir 20 days, to clear chlamydia. If it was doxyclin it is 40 days to clear.

They sure do Aunty Laura, they sure do!! My Baci used to absolutely LACERATE my fingers when he was in hormonal overload! Lilly does too and you'd be surprised at the bite force she is able to generate for such a tiny bird. My hands end up looking like they've been poked by a thousand tiny little needles for the few weeks when she's on the rampage!! No fun at all medicating a bird like that. I have to medicate Fang daily for his heart condition and he always acts like a total doofus about it but he really doesn't bite, thank goodness!

Penny day 17, day 10 of formula , dropped 1 gram to 99, i fed less formula yesterday . Eagerly took 7ml the high end she will take at a time. Otherwise bright, no squint or sinus draining.

Ta- dsh ended up having diarrhea several times yesterday, she has passed no morning poop, doc think dehydration. We doubled her dose for next 2 treatments to 0.2ml every other day azithromyacin. Weight same 67 grsms ( normal 74) she took formula very nicely, either cuz she way sicker, or understands what's up now. I praised her lavishly, she likes being a good girl. She is napping now that I look at her, so definitely not feeling good. Took 1.5ml made watery since she has had diarrhea.
Edit: nap turned into head hanging down straight on chest. If you have seen this it looks like their neck is broken. It indicates a very sick bird. She now gets the heat panel , till I can order a new one...getting very worried about her .

Pikachu eye swelling almost gone very very slight. He lost , down to 105. Offered him hsbd feeding, he took 6ml

Orbit holding 91, since I had offered him formula 2, and he took 2.5ml

It was everybody treatments day

Operations feed Tadah will now start every 2 or so hours

Edit: im going back to offering tiny amount live culture yogurt with no artificial sweetners. I had stopped , but I always hsve good success when I use it fir sick burds on meds.
Vet also echoed saxguy earlier wmqyestuon might they have stomach upset with meds , vet today said maybe rgey are nauseous from antibiotics. Supporting me going bsck to offering yogurt.

Pikachu who's iris darkened when sick, finally has his blue eyes back!!! This is nit a well documented thing, but there is something info out there that eye the iris part will darken or look reder during chlamydia infection, and other systemic bacterial infection !!! Ta-dah eyes also darker, but harder to tell as she is a light brown eyes normally
Pikachu today!!! My blue eyed boy is back!!

At least somebody in the house is eating!!!
I put acrylic sheets on top of cage to keep mess from going into cages and save burd toes. then plastic dollar store trays to hold veggies, but he hauled it out fir a good chomp. I hung perches just above cage to make jungle gym for them.

Day 18 of Penny recovery ( yes recovery!!),
Weight back at 100, no squinting, or draining or fluffing. Very vocal Today, eating more on her own. Still hand feeding for.

Ta-dah lost another gram now 65 ( 12.1% loss) ( 74 normal), heat panel on her only. Hand feeding stopped as her stress us through the roof. Clings to side of cage screams and flaps if she sees me. :( so different that Penny. The yogurt is helping the poop.
New poop pic. Bottom still has done of tge dark green feces( liver, infection) changing to more normalish. Sorry I didn't take diarrhea pics and yellow urine,( dehydration) pics. Pictures come second to me dealing with my babies.

EDIT: I know inside my Ta-dah beats a jealous heart. So I fed Penny and Pikachu the formula from the syringe in front of her. Hoping I could then offer her some in a bowl or something. But first I cleaned the syringe and stuck it through the cage bars. Yep she came over and took 1.5ml that way!!!!! Yippee!!!! Then she went back to sleep with head hanging down. But at least she has warm food in her, and she us sitting by my radiant heat panel...poor sick girl..

I'm glad they are starting to do better for you. <3

LOL that corn cob picture... Alex is such. Weirdo. Won't eat fresh corn, won't eat dry corn. LOVES wrinkley corn. Pop it in the dehydrator till it looks like it needs an assisted living facility, and you can't keep Alex away! And he loves to then carry around the chunks of corn cob like a dog with a stuffed animal in his mouth.

Love the little feathered weirdos. :) We have been very worried for your flock, just such wonderful news there is continued improvement!

Do you have any milk thistle? Reading old macaw threads I read about this product(for people): https://lilyofthedesert.com/product/aloe-herbal-detox-formula/

But it requires refridgeration once open and we don't have a fridge. We do have 2 bottles for Freedom, but unopened since no fridge. I did find this product that chewy sells: https://www.chewy.com/equa-holistic...T9WgV88PQxBrkC-NNXtH8l-Agme8rDnQaAhxxEALw_wcB

We give that one to Freedom. Seems to be helping her(some of her yellow wing feathers are molting and growing back the correct blue). She seems to really like the taste. It is a powder you are supposed to put on food, but Freedom goes thru so much water I will often put a scoop of the stuff directly in her water, then change out the water a couple hours later. She clearly drinks more water with the powder in it, so I don't worry about it putting her off drinking enough. Birdman666 said about the liquid product that it is not something they can overdose on, but I still don't overdo it.

I was also sent a sample of a bird medicine salad that has many of the same ingredients, but in dry herb form. Hang on, I'll look for the bag. The company sent me a big bag of the stuff when I ordered something else. I mean a big bag, like 2oz of dried herbs as a "sample". Have not tried it yet but it looks to be good stuff.

Ah, here it is, "Eddie's Aviary" Bird Salad. Looks like good stuff, I will have to try it. Good ingredients, it seems to me. Again, I have not tried this one yet or looked much into it, but it seems with a real quick look over to be good stuff: https://www.eddiesaviary.com/supplies-2/holistic-avian-health

All of these are liver support, which may or may not be beneficial.

Great suggestions! I believe in milk thistle. I think I will get some thank you
