Anywho - the full movie is on youtube (in parts, but you can always put them in a playlist ;) )

Enjoy!!

I still have that movie from when I was a kid. I've always loved blue crown conures! The movie always made me cry... :)

I watched it last weekend, and I was SOBBING OMG That movie is adorable (but I'm a little biased because it feature blue crown conures... :54:)

I've never seen it, nor have my kids. But you are all talking about sobbing--is there a happy ending? That sobbing thing scares me... I need upbeat stuff for the season!

Yep, there's a happy ending...

There is a happy ending, but it is super sad throughout. I had to turn off the TV when my 13-year-old was watching it because he was crying so badly. It really is a great movie, but if you are the type of person who cries at Lassie reruns (that is me), then just be prepared!

I watched this with Gilbert on Sunday! I actually like the Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill better (and that one makes me sad), but Paulie is such a cute movie. Cool that they used a blue crown for a 'star' role. you know, they normally pick a cockatoo or a macaw, something more 'magnificent' looking to appeal to the masses than a little blue crown. I'm glad there is a generation of kids who grew up on that movie and recognize the blue crown with happy thoughts!

I watched it a couple weeks ago on Netflix.

I think anyone that has a strong bond with a bird can relate to this movie. I loved it as a child and to this day still do. It is the Homeward Bound for bird owners. As a child my parents gave me a green cheek conure (my mother's idea after seeing the movie). At the time I already had a tame cockatiel. I named him Pauile and he was my "Paulie." We were joined to the hip.

I named my eclectus after Paulie...

I probably watch the movie every 6 months...

I LOVE this movie, the one part that always gets me is when they are trimming his wings and he says, "you're taking away the only thing that makes me different from you". I swear every time I trim a bird I hear that in the back of my mind and instantly feel guilty :(

i actually found that a little ironic... cause throughout the film i couldnt help but notice the clipped wings on him - eventhough he could fly.

The butter commercial made me tear up....especially when the "voice" said "born in Germany". :( Great, now I'm homesick...I was born in Germany.

Oh, and I LOVE the movie "Paulie". It's been a while since I've last seen it, so I may just have to pop it in later on. :)

The Hubby went out and found us a used copy of Paulie last night for $3.99 ! Family movie time later today !

I just posted this Youtube link like days ago....It's one of my all time favorite movie with birds in it!!!! This movie made me want a Blue Crown when I first started....

I recall sitting in the movie house with my two guys (years ago) watching Paulie.
OMG I cried like a baby, so did my guys.
I was on air a few weeks ago, I cried just as much as the first time, even knowing the ending was great.

Omg I watched Paulie so many times as a kid! Just a few months ago, my boyfriend and i were long distance and we were on the phone together and i had him watch the movie along with me! He liked it and i was sobbing like a baby throughout! I had no idea what kind of bird he was until now though!
