Parrot Pumpkin Carvings :D

My hubby and I did a design for the Parrot Palooza pumpkin contest in NJ It's of Elvis. What does every one think? Has any one else done any parrot themed pumpkin carvings? If so, I'd love to see pictures!

Thanks everyone! My hubby did the carving I did the design It's so easy. We took a close up of Elvis and shaded the border of the picture and then shaded in his face, beak, etc. and everything shaded meant pumpkin shell, so it was super easy! We were up til 1230 AM carving it!

@ Wendy We were there all day today from 12-5, and we had a great time. I hated the NJ Bird Man show, hated it- but I will be posting a thread about him shortly lol . We will be back around 4-6 tomorrow, maybe a little earlier- depending when we get back from the farmers market, that way we can see the photograph contest and pumpkin contest judged We entered both. Hope to see you there!

We couldn't make it yesterday. Had too much going on. SO upsetting.

We lost. The 1st prize went to a hollowed pumpkin with carved cage bars and a fake bird inside, the other two places went to this new pumpkin decorating which isn't carving but just scraping designs into the shell. I wish wehad known about surface scrapping being considered carving because that would've been so much faster and easier and allowed for details....
But either way we won first place for the toy making contest and won 100 dollar certificate we spent another 5 hours there today as well lol

Yep so now I'm going to get her a floor light and full spectrum lightbulb with it for one of her Christmas gifts, with the daylight hours changing and all.
