I bought a female Cockatiel this 3 days ago and she really likes me and we bonded. But she is afraid of my finger when i put it in the cage to try and take her out and it seems like she screams at it, well i shouldn't say scream cause it was just some weird sounds idk im a new to parrot keeping so lets just call it a sound that meant she was intimidated. She is weird because she flew out of the cage when i putting a millet seed feeder in her cage and i went off and put out my hand she climbed on and i held forr for a minute and then put her on my shoulder and went walk around for a second and then went back to the cage, but then she flew away and sat untop of my window blinds. So i right i had to be at work in a 15mins so i let her be for a few minutes while i was getting ready and then i went to go get her and she got intimidated by my finger and refused to go on and was intimidated by it. So i was like i guess i have to grab her with a towel so i got one and i came back. But i was like im gonna try putting the towel on my hand and seeing if she will step up before i throw the towel around her. And she did so i just took her down and put her in the cage without have to throw the towel around.

So she isnt scared of the towel. But it seems like one minute she doesn't mind my hand and then another minute she does. But she doesn't mind be around me and she doesn't mind being on me.

I apologize for my grammar i know its sounds horrible, its like 2am!

Any advice please?

I would recommend just to feed her by hand to get her more comfortable with them. Once she eats from your hands without concern, you can then teach her to step on your hands for a reward. Keep working with her in a positive manner and you can later phase out the food for just time spent with you!
