well just when i though all was well with nut :(

she has started to un-do the curtains an generally doin and chewing things like a spoilt child would, as in, if its not allowed, she will do it more!!

well she was on curtains again today, so i asked her to come off an then i gentally shook the curtains

nut reaction was to fly off curtains onto my finger and bite my thumb  hard, but not enough to break skin

in her cage she went, well talk about throwing a tantrum, she hissed, postured, puffed up an flapped her wings

well when she looked calm i let her out, on the curtains she went again

so i stuck some of my son's toys onto her cage, and she is happily playing with them, now. she is letting me scratch her head etc but wont come to me :( she has not come to me for over a week now, as i am not her fav person, my husband is. i am worried she will be more aggressive with me, as i am the person that spends most time with her

any ideas will be fab, as she has shocked me abit today :11: i don't mind not being her fav person, but i don't want to get to the stage i am afriad to let her out of her cage when i am on my own with her

when my hubs is home she's as good as gold, as all she does is sits on his shoulder, like she did with me when she started settling,

ahhh the trials and tribulations!!!!

Ahhh Sue, I'm sure you know what to do? ;)

We all have these moments with our "wild child" tempered birds! I can only envy those who have calm fids from afar! ahhha!

Sometimes Cal just likes to rip the wall paper. Despite having a cage full of toys inside AND out AS WELL AS a massive AG sized play den. As WELL as natural branches with toys hanging off them here there and everywhere - WALLPAPER!!!! HA!

Luckily, we have not decorated. It matters not what I try to do to distract her when she is in these moods. Luckily as she has grown, she only starts this if she is overtired so I simply don't let her GET tired - I pop her home before she starts to flag.

When she was doing it "just for fun" I tucked plain paper over the curtains and at the door - this is where she chewed. She had a fab time decimating these! I don't have a curtain pole, but if I did, I'd pop one of my home made pinata's onto the end of it. Maybe something like that would help?

Others I'm sure will advise you to teach her to steer clear of these area's totally and that IS a consideration that you have to make. I just know that when Cal was in this stage, I had no hope of teaching her this then and there.

Eventually Nut will get bored of this game, I am sure.

One thing you DO need to do is teach her to "do as she's told" though. ;) Or as I like to call it - manners!!!

Cal loves her Daddy because he is a pushover and some evenings, it is all about him. This is because it is me who pays the most attention to her and she misses him on the days he is busy or she cannot come into the shop.

Like Nut, she will go to him in a flash because the mentality seems to be I have been keeping her in check all day and Daddy won't do that. ha!

When Nut is in a good mood, start to teach her to fly to you on demand. To do this with Cal, I started with her simply jumping from hand to hand. Then I'd give her a small piece of popcorn as a treat.

Then from her cage to my hand a few feet away. Lots and lots of praise/excited tones as well as the popcorn because eventually, the treat will become null and void lol. Unless you want to carry Nut's fave treat all the time in your pocket! :D

Next it was all over the room. I found turning it into a game helped immensely. I would literally duck down the side of the sofa into a ball and shoot my hand in the air and say in a REALLY playful, silly tone "Where's Calypso??? I can't seeeee her...." She'd fly to me and say: HELLO! Then I'd get kisses. I'd return her to her cage after going into absolutely over the top raptures about how AMAZINGLY OUTSTANDINGLY BRILLIANT SHE WAS and "hide" somewhere else lol!

Now she comes to me whenever I ask. Don't get me wrong, if too much time passes (IE a couple of weeks) and I haven't bothered to make the calling process fun, she will metaphorically stick out her bottom lip and NO! lol.

Nut will go through MANY phases of testing your bounderies and you must just go with it! Sadly, you and I will always be seen as the one's who suck the fun but hey, we keep them safe, we teach them right from wrong. Just like children, one day they will do it without question!

I hope that helped!

Hie-hie Vonnie with you around we have nothing left to say!:D I think I'll have to pop you on a plain so you can come play with my little terrorist.:D

Thanks for the great post jong. ;)

Just one thing Suebee, please consider replacing the metal hooks of the curtain with plastic ones - just in case. Those curtain hooks are known to cause metal poisoning.

I am sure nut will move to a new adventure pretty soon. :p Sorry about the bite thou.

LOL Linky!!!! I would LOVE to meet your terrorist, you know this! haha!

I will just stay quiet for a while hahaha! I have had too much to say the last few days I think hehehehehe!
