YNA (Mad) Max aka Mean Max Green ~2002
Sulfur Crested ‘too Babybird 2015
Baby is a 3 y o sulfur crested Cockatoo, (Mad) Max is 15 y o yellow naped Amazon, who hates me, and frequently nips my g/f for no apparent reason (but we assume it's because of me). If you want both we need to get our $300 back we spent for the large cage.

My g/f thinks they are bonded as a pair but I'm pretty sure that if we split them up and both got lots of attention it wouldn't be a serious issue for either of them.

We live in Crawfordsville, Indiana. If anyone wants to adopt one of our birds and we're sure it's to a good home, it would reduce the stress a lot. We're fostering a tiny dog that hates the birds, feeding 5 outside cats (one of which we're not sure if s/he is neutered or not) and we have 3 dogs. Vet bills are a major part of our budget.

Since both of you are junior members. I would suggest that if there is an interest in contacting each other regarding the Parrots, you have a Super Moderator act as a go-between. Their Names are listed in Purple and by private messaging (PM) any of them, they will be happy to help you!

This thread has been viewed over 500 times and the only person interested wants us to ship them to Texas.

Well, that sometimes happens as members and viewers stop and open the Thread to better understand what the Title may mean or if anything had changed from before.

Is there a Rescue or Re-home group near your area? Let your Vet know that you are interested in Re-homing your Parrots as local individuals are talking to their Vets.

Pictures always help!

I’m not that far from you and can help with regional transport. May I ask where you got these birds? I’m guessing they came as a pair since you just have one cage. Any more details about their history - do they have medical records, hatch certificates, etc.? What are they eating? Do they talk, like any particular kinds of toys or activities? It helps if people can get a sense of the personalities.

Pictures are also very helpful. People need to see the birds and the cage. There is no charge for uploading photos to your account, then you link to that photo from your post. If you have any trouble, the support forum has good help.

There are several local rescues that might be able to help with placement. If you aren’t able to PM me directly, any moderator can forward a message. It would be good to see them placed in a forever home.

I am interested and will come pick them up. I work from home and our birds are never caged unless they want to be. I turned my home office into their room and they have multiple bird stands and cargo nets that they play on all day when they are in there. But I put them out in the main room with my amazon all day. They are well loved and yours will be too.

Well, it turns out that now that we have someone reasonably nearby that would take one of the birds and reimburse us for the cost of the cage, g/f doesn't really want to part with them.

I have pretty much given up hope of convincing Mad Max that I'm not his enemy but I am having some success in getting Baby reduce the amount of screaming.

Thank you for the update! So are you going to try to keep them? I'm glad to hear you have made some progress with Baby's screaming, hopefully Max will come around:)
