Guess who just landed her SECOND modeling gig!! Miss Ona has been selected as the Harrison’s featured bird for their November newsletter! And she even made $100 this time! I took these of her

My husband with Ona and her two new friends at the bird sitter’s place.

The one on his shoulder is really shy and skittish. The one on his hand is super friendly and she and Ona are buddies! They were dancing together and Ona was SO happy!

Always surprises me how closely conures and caiques like to be held and snuggled. If I tried that with Salty, meat chunks would be missing. Very occasionally he lets me put my hand/fingers over his head to give a scratch, everything else is to the side or bottom. Ona is so cute here, little head peeping out and saying Hi.

Ona sure is special. Most adult green cheeks, even the nicest ones, don't like having their whole bodies enclosed in a fist like that!

She lives to cuddle and be held! She absolutely loves it.

I have the best, sweetest budgies but the only loved bring held like that before three months old when I was hand raising them.

I am extremely late in posting this but here is Ona’s snippet from the Harrison’s Jan newsletter.

She’s been busy being her adorable little sassy self! She talks and mimics quite a bit these days. My favorite newer word of hers is “Quasimoto” she says it when she rings her bells! She can actually say it pretty well!

Her plucking episode seems to be thankfully over and her feathers are doing pretty great.

I have to share this Ona story

The weather is really nice today and Ona loves going in the sunroom with me to watch the outside birds. So earlier today I wanted to take her in there while I worked to let her enjoy it. I had my youngest dog out in the room with me at the time, and he and Ona are never allowed out together. So to make the switch-around easier I asked my husband to put Ona in her backpack while I took the doggie upstairs. (Welcome to my daily crate-and-rotate life!) She was being a little stubborn about wanting to go in her backpack so he told her “Ona, you’re going outside” and she went in. Then she got impatient waiting for me to come get her. According to my husband she said: “Daddy…… Outside….. No ********” - I unfortunately can’t post the full phrase here but you get the idea
