Hey everyone,

Guess Whattttt!!!!! After Bob was at my home yesterday clipping Maui's and our other birds claws for us, THANK YOU So MUCH, BOB!!!!! He started to make a revelation about my sweet Maui, saying he thought Maui seemed a little darker than what would be considered the norm in a Congo, narrower head, darker nostril area (forget the name of that). BoB!!! You're so RIGHT, My baby is a mix breed!!!!

After really looking at him, I've JUST come to realize that Maui is NOT 100% Congo, but, in fact, is part Timneh as well!! We are all just cracking up over here, when I get a chance, I will point out in photo's all of Maui's Timneh features. IE... all his claws are black EXCEPT 1 which is TOTALLY Timneh colored, his BRIGHT RED tail, is NOT BRIGHT RED anymore, but 1/2 is bright red and the other 1/2 (split horizontally) on the ends are definitely maroon. Also, just today, Maui has been practicing and has learned the wolf whistle (to a tee). I don't care, honestly, I love him regardless of his species, I just think it's SO ODD!!! I did think he was advancing a little fast for his age, but, now, I think I understand, as the Timmies do seem to learn a bit quicker as babies. Maui is only 10 weeks old, and has not grown a whole heck of a lot. Congo's are a much larger bird, but I think My little Mau Mau will be taking after the Timmie side of the family in size. Has ANYONE EVER heard of such a thing????

It's very common in nz due to the lack of greys available for breeding

Whichever he's still beautiful

I have a cross breed myself ( not a grey though) and he's the most beautiful smartest little bird I know ( but I may be biased )

Just so long as their happy and loved it dosent matter their breed

I admit to nothing :09:

Though.................if we don't see some new pics of Maui in the near future, next time I come over I'm bringing my camera ;)

Aww, thanks Pheonix!! I think he's quite beautiful myself ;) He's such a smartie pants too, he just tickles me to pieces. One of my Rosella's favorite whistles was the wolf whistle in which he would do in every variation possible :D, Anyways, I've re homed the Rosellas just yesterday and ALL day today, Maui has beening learning and doing the wolf whistle AT 10 WEEKS OLD!!!! I love it, he's so cute and you're right, it doesn't matter to me at ALL what he is, I love him dearly and would change him for the WORLD!!! I bet your cross breed baby is gorgeous, I'm gonna go take a peak on your page and see if you've got pics I can admire!!!

LMBO!!!! WOW, how appropriate is that. Well, imo, 6 to 1 1/2 dozen to the other. It's all the same to me, he's still the most AMAZING bird I've ever known! (except of course all of yall's fids!!)

LOL!! I surely wouldn't doubt that either, either way, both of your birds are quite smartie pants!

Glad I caught your attention !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahaha

I actually looked for the ugliest weirdest picture I COULD FIND

Anyway, mix breed or full pedigree, it's what is in the inside that counts
Mishka's Aunt Jessica has such a big big
Jessica is the teacher, I take tips from her, and Mishka is the learner, they work well together hand in hand.
