Anyone that knows me well would fully understand the DO NOT EAT THAT. I am not the cook in the house. I can cook..... well kinda. But James is the Chief . He can take something dull and just make it wake your taste buds up.

Today He was working in the yard and It was cage cleaning day inside so thought I might as well give making Bird Bread/ treats a shot:22:.

Needless to say the only thing I could find was Sweet Potatoes. BB needs those more than anything. Peanut Butter , Sounds good to me lol

Now BB does fine at eating veggies so mainly I wanted something to get Sweet Potatoes in him. I wish I had Kale but that will make the next batch.

I Used Jiffy Mix as a base. Put the Cooked Sweet potatoes in with a egg. Had every intention to put shell in but Well I could not get it crushed up enough to suit me . ( please be nice remember I am a direction only cook )

SO first batch ( 10 ) went in the pan. To big . Cool let BB try it and well it was ok . At least he ate it all

Pulled up Wendy,s Recipe Hmmm Peanut Butter let me add that. So mixed up Placed smaller drop on cookie sheet. PERFECT Little golden cookies. About the size of a 1/2 dollar. PERFECT lol Until I went in the other room . Came back and James was standing at the stove popping them in his mouth as hard as he can. Said they are a little blah but if you add some hot peppers leave out the peanut butter they would be better UGH

I told him it was Bird Bread for BB He opened a beer and went outside LOL

LOL! Hahaha! Maybe you'll have to try and make some people cookies to make up for it! I'm glad BB loved them though [emoji4]

Ha ha! Husbands are so silly. Mine had that rolled meat dog food cut up on crackers once and was happily munching away on it when I said the same "O-M-G! Don't eat that!" He didn't forgive me for a long time. Your cooking adventure sounds like it will live in family stories and legends for a long, long time. LOL

HAHAHA! Oh my gosh, the things our families go through. I made some birdie bread for my flock, and I added pellets and egg shells. My daughter came over and when I came into the kitchen she had cut a piece and was eating it with butter. I asked her how it was and she loved it. Then I broke it to her about the pellets and egg shells, and she said it tasted so good she didn't care..lol

Seriously, I think we often feed our pets better than we feed ourselves. I mean I may struggle with choosing some healthy veggies for myself instead of scarfing down a half a pizza but there's no willpower issue in choosing what my bird eats. I'm sure if it's good enough for the bird, it's good enough for me!
