Take a Hike Day with Cairo!

He loves going outside, so we're the talk of the town with him being the only parrot wearing a harness at meet-ups. I swear he started being more himself after we went on a walk this past weekend.

This photo was when we went to a nature reserve with friends (their 1yo loves looking at birds). Everyone along the trail loved him, even the monkeys tried to snatch him!! We got out of their territory fast, with our friends acting as his bodyguard armed with a spray bottle of water (the spray bottle was initially brought along to mist him). Learned our lesson (never bring pets where there are monkeys) and nearly gave me a heart attack.

Gorgeous shot of Cairo! He fits right in with all of the greenery in the background. I couldn't be happier to see him up and about. What a fighter he is!

National Adoption Day is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, November 17 this year. So in honor of that holiday, I submit this picture of the first time we met our newest addition. He chose us, so we chose him.

Beautiful! Such a touching moment captured for the camera! He has certainly found a wonderful home, so he obviously has great taste.

It was really yummy! If I won't eat it, I won't give it to him. I have to stop myself from stealing his birdie bread. Mmmmmm! So good. My wife is jealous too. Patches gets all the good things. Now if only I could get him to share some of that yummy stuff with me...
