Hi all,
i was recommended to this site by someone who might inherit a parrot. She told me not to get one because they are a life long investment. hum.. I think I know that. I feel that way about all the pets that people acquire but i do know birds are at the top of the chain for longevity in pets.
I do not plan to breed or show or any other thing. I just want a pet to chat with and be company for. I guess, ya, they end up owning us. I'm for sale...lol
I'm going to read and gleen my info and not be a lurker but I really do hope i get the bird that is up for adoption.

I don't have any pictures of my bird as she's not here yet. :white1:

So this is a much nicer take on being owned by a bird. Do you remember being here 7 years ago? This is not to be ugly or mean I'm asking because you recently came on and said you found us on a search and wanted to join...this post represent you better

Welcome!
Parrots are a WAYYYYYYY bigger commitment than other pets. SO MUCH HARDER and smarter...and your lifestyle (cleaners, cookware, perfume, candles....everything will have to go away).

Hello there :)
(and no, tortoises live faaaar longer than parrots do, there are also rumours of third generation humans owning the same special goldfish going round, but those are just rumours)
Keeping parrots is like having a small child (and *everything* that comes with it, except teething of course ;) ) for decades and decades.
