Buzzard ā€œBuzzā€ hatched 3/23/2012. I hadnā€™t known a rooster could be so loving. He visited the library, let kids hold and read to him, appeared on a Christmas card, visited the fair and petting zoos and amazed people with his looks and charm. Heā€™s had a tough winter and I moved him to a heated coop just last month. This morning I held him and told him I didnā€™t think he would be with us much longer. As much as he ate and acted fine he has gotten frail in his old age. I didnā€™t realize it was the last time Iā€™d hold him alive. I know he was ā€œjustā€ a chicken but you dont often find one with his personality. He will be missed.

That is one awesome chicken!! I'm so very sorry for your loss. Animal have that special touch that let's us humans feel loved. Thanks for the incredible heart felt story of your love

I have heard such wonderful stories of chickens that have worked deep into the hearts. We so underestimate the connection and what they add to our life until they pass onwards. And, I truly believe, waiting for us!

Well desired and Warm Feathered Hugs Dear Friend!

Buzz sounded like quite the special rooster. Like your signature says ''it is not only fine feathers that make fine birds.'' Some connections can extend beyond and form deep ones, including those with chickens. Not a parrot, but certainly featherly noticed. You made his last days warm and comfortable. May he rest peacefully with his wings wide open.

My deepest condolences for your loss of Buzz. So many feathered species have gentle and sweet souls. You and others were enriched by his tenderness. Buzz certainly knew he was dearly loved.

So sorry to hear about Buzz, it sounds like he had many adventures. Chickens have some great personalities.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss! To me, it doesn't matter what kind of animal it is - once it's worked its way into your heart, it's as beloved as any other.

Just know that we have all been there, we're all grieving with you, and we're all here for you.

Sorry for your loss! He looked like a funky rooster :D
