Sounds like you are both doing very well! Congrats! In 3 weeks I'm down 9lbs just by diet alone, but that's the way it always is for me. The first 2 or 3 weeks it drops fast and then I have to struggle for the rest. I swear starting this Saturday I'm going to get serious about getting on my bikes and running aka jogging.
 
i'm going to go check out your blog too!! Being healthy and fit is a great goal and sometimes writing it down is a huge help. I have friends who use Instagram and photograph all their meals and snacks for the day to stay accountable. I often use My Fitness Pal app to keep track of my eating. (I am a vegetarian who tends to eat an all carb diet naturally, but the app lets you scan a bar code off your food and it keeps a tally of your ratio of carbs/fat/protein and that is really helpful to me!)

3 weeks ago I started the Dash Diet. My mom, sister, and I are all doing it together. So far I've lost 11 pounds. It might not seem like a lot for three weeks, but the only thing I'm doing different is the way I eat. No extra exercise(which I should do, lazy me! Although I do run around constantly at work haha).

Totally inspiring when you start to see the results!
 
Actually 11 pounds in 3 weeks is a lot, so you're doing great! Generally speaking 1lb a week is normal.

And the more you lose the harder it is to lose.

Wow, 9lbs is awesome! I always drop a lot more in the first 2 or 3 weeks, too! Then it gets harder to come off. Like you, I haven't started an exercise routine yet. So this week I hope to start, too!

I'm finding the blog is really helping me be accountable for everything I do and I find it very therapeutic to write things down. I have really enjoyed doing it. I've heard of My Fitness Pal, sounds handy! Good luck with your goals!

11 lbs is awesome in 3 weeks! I've only been doing mine for 3 weeks as well. I'm bad about the exercise, too. I hope to get back to doing my Zumba DVD's! :D
