We just got a rather disturbing scam call today.
The phone registered an incoming call from my fatherā€™s home phone number.
It was just a standard Medicare scam so it was easy enough to hang up.

But that was NOT just standard method. Usually you get something from your area code
But someone cared enough to know our house # and name + people who might be related to me.
And look up their number and fake it.
OR.
My phone is being tapped.
Or something.
Damn creepy.

To make matters worse I programmed the phone with my fatherā€™s number making it easier to dial.
I saved it as Dad. So when the phone call came in and said ā€œDadā€ it was extra confusing.

Be watchful out there.

texsize I've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty....

I've gotten calls from my Dad a couple times that were spam calls. This was a couple years ago.

This was a new level to me.
I know the technology is out there for spoofing phone #.
Someone had to tie my # with my fatherā€™s #.
Had they tried some other kind of ā€¦ā€¦ trick (to be kind) it would have / could have worked.
My father is not well and the mind reals at the possibilities.
