Hello everyone my name is Pete and recently purchased my first two parrots. One is a TAG named Jack and the other is a Hahn's Macaw that stole my wife's heart the second I took her to the breeder to meet Jack.
Jack, 5 months, and I have made some great progress so far. He will step up w/o biting and when he flutters down from his play perch I can easily coax him to come to me to "step up." He's already trying to talk, no understandable words yet. He's not really into being petted which is kind of disappointing, but what can ya do. Some times when on his play pen he likes to fun his back on the family and other times he's reaching out as soon as you get closeHopefully we'll get there eventually, along with being able to do tricks but time will tell.
Hans, 4.5 months, is such a unique and outgoing bird. He's super affectionate. He gets on your chest and jumps on his back so you can tickle is belly when your laying on the couch. No he is a little stubborn and will flutter down from his play perch to jump back on you almost as fast as you can put him up there. And he's a little nippy if things arent going exactly his way. I should of named him Rooster because he thinks he runs the hen house.
Looking to learn a lot from this website and would appreciate any advice, tips, or input whatsoever .
Also I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY. Recommend lady bird aviary In Atlanta, GA. Thanks Again.
