New colour budgie to me

Oh my goodness! I have NEVER seen a budgie with that type of coloring...simply amazing!
And your photo's of the two...they are SO tiny! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stick around and post more pictures as they grow! This will be an awesome thread :)

I know very little about Budgies..( except they are highly under-rated) Golly I can't wait to see video's when they get bigger and older and they start doing their budgie things lol..little mischief makers and silly antics lol.

Thank you for sharing these darlings with us!

Omg I just can't get over how amazing that little bird is! Even if it is no good for breeding, you should keep it. Or send it to another member of this forum (cough*me*cough... what? Did you say something?(edit: totally kidding. 3 is my current maximum)) So we can continue to enjoy fabulous photos of him/her. :)

Thanks for sharing him or her with us.

New to the thread but wow what a beautiful baby!!! Congratulations on a very cool/rare find!!

wow that is amazing. You've repeaked my interest in budgies. Honestly, I got turned off cause we had some issues with our budgies but I think I am ready for more. I do love their tiny antics. And their chatter and mumbles. How many do you have? I bet you could get a pretty penny for that beautiful bird, hopefully we continue to get pics, he is getting big so fast! Thought of a name?

Wow how unusual! Looks to me like you have a genuine half-sider, it’s just not 100% perfectly marked on each side. Beautiful genetic mistake! I’m sure it’s extremely rare to happen. I’m pretty familiar with budgies, and have never heard of anyone having it happen except that famous one that lives at a pet store.

It’s opaline. That causes the body color to be on the wings too. Also broken lines on head barring is a tell tale sign. It’s a standard common pattern mutation and can happen with any color mutation.

It’ll be really interesting to see the whole bird when it’s completely feathered out!

That is a beautiful baby! The colors are so vivid.
Here's a photo of my little boy. Before him, I had a 14 year old half-English budgie who passed away a few months ago. I used to breed budgies and this is unusual pastel variation that I hadn't previously seen either. I am new at this, so hope the photo will upload.

If the chest feathers are also split down the middle it could be a 'half-sider', which is very rare.

I am waiting for the first mold .. :)

You guys... I think it’s a real half sider. SO COOL!!

I did used to think half-siders were photoshopped!
Very unique wee bird.

Such an awesome looking bird and an even more interesting mutation. What are your plans for this baby? Is he/she a pet?

The GUY upstairs certainly creates some beautiful and unique/rare creatures!
Such a gorgeous little Budgie! I hope you deside to keep him as a pet companion...getting big so fast!

Wow super neat ! I didn't know these guys existed. I admit I had a bit of a research spree regarding how budgie "chimeras" are formed. A theory I came across suggested it could be caused by damage/malfunction in melanin production during a critical stage of development, resulting to split pigment along the centerline of the animal rather than two 100% unique genetic sources. It's still an active area of debate and neat regardless. Thank you again for sharing.

Beautiful birds!

Officially, I'd say she's probably a green opaline split parblue. (might be missing a mutation!) It also looks like you've got 4 hens and 1 male in that clutch.

Got pictures of the parents?

Yeap .. its my pet from now on :) here are the parents
