New Cockatoo!

We are meeting a U2 rescue tomorrow, and we hope she likes us! I'm printing your advice for the family! All good stuff! Thank you.

Do a lot of reading. Cockatoos, especially M2/U2s need a lot of "stimulation" and attention. And toys are not cheap, either!

I'm thrilled that you want to rescue a U2, so many are given up when owners realize what a huge commitment they've taken on. Try to find out as much as possible about the U2's background, the info will come in handy.

I hope the visit today is the start of a long term relationship. Please start a new thread and share you adventure.

My U-2 Moses LOVES baby teething toys-- plastic keys on a plastic ring, plastic teething rings that dangle, etc.-- he loves pulling them apart and will play with each one individually. You can pick up baby teething toys for next to nothing at your local thrift store. Also wooden blocks to chew on.
