One of the guys at the shelter made me one for Christmas :D Now I just have to figure out where I want to put it....wall or ceiling...decisions :p I figured I'd wait till my new stacker comes in to decide where I want it exactly...

Isn't it nice:D

I really need to learn to make nets like that, i found an already made net online, but it was waaay too expensive for some knotted rope quite frankly.

Did you set it up yet? :)

Very nice! Which birds will be using that?

Didn't set it up yet:) He is going to help me get it up once he picks up the hardware for it.

It was made with Kelly in mind I believe but I'm sure everyone will climb on it. The little ones always like the big bird stuff:rolleyes:

If you were to hang it up on the ceiling, how would it be hung?
How would they get to it, as well as use it?
Another question; if you hang it on the wall and the bird(s) fly to it, couldn't they hurt themselves then?

I have no idea how it is going to be hung...I'm letting him work that out. I'll just point and say there and he will figure it out:p

Kelly likes to hang upside down and climb around so he will like it. Kelly will either have to be put on it or I have to get a stand tall enough that he can climb between the two. My other ones are all flighted so they can fly to it just fine.

The birds learn where the wall is once flighted. They only glance a wall when in a panic or startled...well my tiels do. My conures are very good fliers and wouldn't anyway. But birds slow down to land it's not full blast ahead until you run out of steam or hit something....well the ones that know how to fly :)

Yeah of course, but if it's too close to the wall, then they'd have to lean back to land on it.

Pacific fibre and rope company, makes sissal cargo nets custom sized, wholesale, and they are half the price of birdstores...

Cargo nets are Da Bomb! I own several of them. My birds practically live on them.

Do you know if they ship overseas?
I'd want to make some myself anyway, it's fun making toys for them :)

Do you mind showing a picture of how they're set up?

Pacific fibre and rope does the cargo nets for the maritime industry, and also the major zoos. They will ship anywhere.

I'll check and see if I have any. What I have is a large playstand that is seven feet tall, three feet wide and eight feet long made from PVC. I have two 4 by 8 cargo nets that are attached to the pvc pipe, and are just draped across, using plastic baby links.

4 by 8 cargo nets were only about forty bucks each, by the way! and the birds run around all over the things! Perch on them, play on them, swing on them, use them for a preening toy. I hide treats in them, so it doubles as a foraging toy. GREAT investment! One of the best buys I ever made!

The result is a multi-level playstand that can, and has, entertained as many as a dozen birds at a time.

Didn't have any. PM me with your contact info, and I'll text you from my cell.

I use seagrass mats instead...have one hanging inside Hahnzels cage, and one made into a canopy of sorts hanging from her tree stand.
