New amazon owner

I would not bother a vet, unless he gets diareha or don't eat.. I think he is eating fine and poop is fine. I just noticed his nostrils were closed up.. He looks healthy.. Let him get used to his new enviroment. You can go to a pet store and buy some vitamins or meds to clear his sinus drainage problem. It is between $8 to $15.. Just add a drop in his water. But as long as his apetite is good, well he is healthy..

Please DON"T add vitamins without consulting an AV first. Possible liver damage.

I agree and I'll add don't give him meds without a vet's advice either. His nostrils look okay to me from what I can tell in the picture. He could maybe use a bath as they look a little dry or flakey inside. A well bird check is almost always good advice within the first few days of bringing home a new bird. Vitamins will not clear up clogged nostrils. And getting petstore meds is playing with fire. I would hazard a guess based on those pictures that your bird does not have clogged nostrils and no need for meds unless the picture isn't showing his condition accurately. When in doubt, talk to a vet before taking the advice of internet experts when it comes to medicine. Your more likely to pick a drug that won't work for that condition and almost all meds have to be cleared by either the liver or kidneys. Unecessary medication just puts some body part under stress.

Here is a view of a healthy Amazon nostrils..

Thanks all for the advice I will get some clear pics up later but they do look a little blocked from the pic you have put up chaz12. Here where I am I have never seen medd in store for birds and would take him if ness to the av he is eating very well and drinking ,
I haven't given him a bath yet as I don't want to scare him with a sprayer and he won't step up to come to the sink or shower would you recommend I try spraying him ?

Yes, i'd spray the water up and let it fall on him. Don't spray him directly .The average zon loves a good shower/bath.(almost as much as food)
