need travel cage/carrier suggestions

I need a carrier for my Vos Eclectus ..... it is for the car for trips to the vet and also longer drives when we go on vacation......suggestions ?????

I have a King's Cage carrier size tiny, in bronze/silver. I LOVE IT!!! Nalani fits perfectly in there and she is a SI eclectus. It is so lightweight, durable and perfect to use for short trips (ie: vet visits, outdoor activities, car rides, etc.). I highly recommend it!!! I added two small bowls and a little toy in there, along with a different perch. She can perch in it comfortable and has the ability to turn around also. The handle also works as a perch and is super durable, I mean it is made out of aluminum. I have already received so many compliments on it, from friends, family, veterinarian . I really recommend it although it is a bit heavy on the price tag. I spent about $200 total including the two extra bowls, new perch, and a toy. Please note, that this carrier in size "tiny" is wayyy to small to be spending a whole day in, you can always invest in the "small" or a larger size.

I had the Avian Adventures "Poquito Avian Hotel" although it seems like a good deal because of the price (got mine for $70 online). You get what you paid for... The carrier rattles so much in the car that it stressed Nalani out, even I was running dry on patience. The rope perch is useless and broke after the first use. I liked how it was roomy, but it was RIDICULOUSLY heavy. The handle is so week that it bends just by the sheer weight of the carrier, to the point where it will no longer attached and I had to pick up the carrier like I was carrying a box . I feel like it was a complete waste of money and if I could go back in time, I would have just invested in the kings carrier first.

As for long trips, or spending the whole day out and about, I like to use a small dog kennel. I find the two doors with the handle to be the best. It is pretty roomy, isn't too heavy and most importantly... doesn't break the bank . You can attach any perch to it, any toy and plastic/metal bowls. It is super cheap and setting one up will cost about $50. What's great about it, is that you can get a size bigger for only $10 more, instead of $50+ like most avian travel carriers.

This is the cage I use:

Medium Collapsible Travel Cage

It's bigger than most travel cages, so it's perfect for when they will be in it for a while. I drove down to Florida with my bird in this cage. The only thing you have to remember is that even though it is good to have a bigger one for more room, but the bigger they are, the heavier they are.
