Okay, It's been a while since I've been here. But this is quite the emergency.

My Nanday has been for the past day and a half in his cage, and this morning i went to change his food/water and his leg was terribly wounded.

I've ruled out damage from toys, sharp edges, and escaping.

Due to the fact that I see no blood aside from on his perch. which is a small amount. I looked everywhere to see if I could hint what might've happened.

All I can see is his beak with dried blood, which is what got my attention and made me find his leg like this.

Problem is, this doesn't look like plucking whatsoever.
And the wound is WIDE; while his beak is very pointy, and wouldn't create such a "fillet" to the leg.

I've also ruled out human contact that did this, because he is not flinching when I interact with him, nor is he scared of me or anyone else, he just seems like it hurts. A lot.

I've taken a toy that "Seems" the most dangerous in my opinion, and put in another that he can't get "tangled" in by any means.

after finding this I proceeded to give him a bath to wash off any dirt or infection or at least prevent it and held the wound with a towel to make sure the bleeding stopped before I left him to dry off some more.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but he could be self mutilating. The shape of the wound doesn't mean he couldn't have done it as they will continue to tear at it.
He needs a vet visit as he will probably need antibiotics and a collar to keep him form messing with the wound.
Best of luck to you both.

You need to take this bird to an avian vet RIGHT NOW.

He needs to go to the vet and he may need "the cone of shame" to stop him from messing with the wound. Keep us posted.

Any updates? How is the little guy doing?

Oh no. :( hope the vet can help.

I'm no expert, but that looks very much like self-mutilation to me. It definitely resembles other images I've seen of it.

Please update us once you've spoken to the vet. We're all worried for your little guy.
