Nanday is aggressive :(

Is it normal for nandays to be cage and food aggressive / territorial? He almost killed a parakeet my friend brought over. He also likes to bite/nip at my hand and he does a weird growling sound a lot

Well, he's a beauty.

But... if he is that aggressive/territorial, he may be suited for being an only-bird...
like my Rickeybird. I gave up trying to combat his inclinations and accepted him. 40 years later, we have found our way. Good for you for reaching out.
