Hello SailBoat. Thank you)
Yes, i understand you) Sammy plays all the toys hanging in his cage. Especially loves the yellow ball, it jingling) Sammy is attracted to colorful toys, especially the yellow)
Toys made of wood he rarely uses because he spends the entire day outside the cage)
But he has wooden toys in the room, he turns to chips
He also likes to sharpen the beak of the Sepia and the wooden perches in his cage)
So I think that he doesn't need soft wood

I want to ask. How many tablespoons of pellets per day should eat Sammy? He eats very well and I put about 2-3 tablespoons, the same way he eats sprouted grains, lettuce, fruits and vegetables

I want to ask. How many tablespoons of pellets per day should eat Sammy? He eats very well and I put about 2-3 tablespoons, the same way he eats sprouted grains, lettuce, fruits and vegetables

The want is that Sammy eats the Fresh Healthy Foods (Veggies, Fruits, and sprouted grains) with the Pellets acting as a support. Each Parrot can differ regarding the amount of 'food' they need, based on their activity level, etc... In addition, some Parrots will self-regulate, only eating what they need and others will eat until you remove the food.

Commonly, a Parrot that has a great combination of activity with their Humans and also self-entertain well are more likely to self-regulate regarding the amount of food they need. Our DYH Amazon regulates very well and we provide enough food each day to that there is always some left over. We feed the fresh healthy foods twice a day and provide the dry food all day.

All of my birds free-feed, meaning they always have something available. Either fresh veggies and fruits, or a pellet seed mix. Emphasis on the pellets with just a few seeds. It really is dependent on the bird and whether there is a tendency to overeat. Having a sensitive scale measured in grams is a very useful tool, both for maintaining a healthy weight and detecting a subtle but continuous loss that may signal illness.

Chantilly- Thank you)

SailBoat, Scott - I'm not sure that Sammy knows how to control themselves in eating. He pretty much eats. The first time does not depart from the bowls with food.
Now he eats all the pellets. Because of this, eating less fruit and salad. So I want to reduce the portion of pellets to eat more healthy food.

I'm so in love...
That color is so striking. Pink dream indeed.
Like a parrot got crossed with a flamingo!

GaleriaGila - Yes, He's a very bright colors) But now he has grey feathers on the belly, a little on the head. I read that with age it will be even brighter)

Especially in those last photos...
His colorfulness and expression (so proud and flirty) just make me think of a male model or rockstar. Hey, not every dude can pull off PINK. But he does. :)

Wow looks healthy to me! Wish I ate that way lol..

Like Scotty asked, Did Sammy try a bit of every thing?

Scott - Thank you)

plumsmum2005 - At first I did not like this ball. If you put food inside, it is very difficult to obtain, and small pieces fall through yourself, it's uncomfortable. So I decided to put the fruit and vegetables through the holes, it's much easier and the food does not spoil.)
