I was here a few years ago unsure about getting a bird and I was being exaggeratedly concerned for their well being / respiratory system. Then I just left and never came back here again. I didnā€™t adopt a parrot or the likes, but I did adopt a dove sometime after my post. I have named him Mallow because he looked like a slightly roasted marshmallow. Heā€™s been doing great these past few years heā€™s been with me. :) I just wanted to share a picture of him, like a happy ending kind of story. (That feather came off from molting.) Thank you all for being helpful and reassuring.

When I was just a boy I raised a mourning dove chick that managed to survive the trip through a cotton stripper and ended up in the cotton trailer. Was naked just starting to get pin feathers. Named it Tuffy. Was a member of our household for over 13yrs. To this day I miss his/her vocalizations.
Doves are awesome and yours is beautiful.
