Rocky: lovebird
paapi: lovebird
Hi everyone!
This is my first post, hope you guys can help me out. :51:

I own two lovebirds.
Rocky has always been at the top of the pecking order. Paapi below or equal too him.

The last few days Iā€™ve noticed both of them rubbing their beak on the cage bars and chewing them as if wanting to go out of their cage.

I give them plenty of cage time already nearly every day 3+ hours.

It seems as if their pecking order has switched around, only is Paapi more aggressive and more of a bully than Rocky can be.
Paapi chases Rocky away from toys, food etc.

To me it sounded like their cage was getting boring, so I put more toys in their cage today.
They play more but I still see Paapi being jeleous and wanting toys for himself.

What else can I do?
Do you experience pecking order switches in your flock too?

Looking forward to talking with all of you!:rainbow1::rainbow1:

Are they 2 males? How old are they? This sounds like hormonal behaviour but im not sure i hope others who are more specialized in lovebirds can help you out.

Iā€™m convinced they are both male as they do their mating, behavior in the male way.
I got them from my sister, who has had then for a few years, unfortunately Iā€™m terrible at math so Iā€™m going to say 4+ years.

Hey youā€™re from Amsterdam? Iā€™m a Dutchie too!
