I am so insanely glad I actually thought my decision out and decided that a small and quite bird was the way to go. Peppy has been going insane already. He jumps onto the floor of his cage and runs back and forth chirping because he wants out! I left the room and when he stopped I came back in and let him out, I think he got the message. His attitude and companionship is almost overwhelming. At the start I had wanted a cockatoo (along with different kinds of birds but mainly a too) when I was choosing. Now I know as cuddly as they are I WILL NEVER have the patience for one or any bird larger than a grey (ace freaks me out sometimes). When I got peppy I had in mind that with some of my pets I did not feel any incentive to take care of them at all, but I am so proud to say that at this point I practically value Peppy's health over my own. When I look our eyes meet I feel like I'm looking at another person (a two year old with adhd basically) Peppy seems to have a little bit of an aggression/fear problem that I'm going to try and work him through as much as I can (mainly he doesn't want to step up and will bite when he is in his cage or when on your shoulder). Honestly I'm glad the green cheek isn't coming home for a while because I really do need time to familiarize myself with birds. I will cross that bridge when I get there. Right now I'm just going to focus on giving peppy the best quality of life he can have
