Hi,
I have a female cockatiel (Lulu). Today we were having our morning scratches.
Since I have had her she has always laid in my hand to have her head scratched.
Today she backed up and started rubbing her butt on my hand 😳.
I moved her back to her play gym.
I would love to gain some insight into this behaviour as she is only about 4 months old. Our male Mango is not interested in her at all thankfully.

If she's just 4 months probably just experimenting... Or she just had an itchy bumm :D

For now nothing to worry about, and you did the right thing by putting her on the play gym, in the future this will be important when (not if, but when) hormones hit her that if she's trying to do anything with you, put her away and ignore her. You have a good year or so 'till her hormones be boomin'.

BB,a male, does this ALOT and it aggro's me to no end  I immediately distract him and remove him from my hand or arm. He is now 5.5 years old and has been doing this since he was 4.5 months old. Pervy little so-and-so!
