UPDATE: Its been 24hours and he's still holding on. He didn't eat anything for 26hours now and he's hardly drinking water.
I kept him in a simi dark place in my room that seemed to help him rest and get some sleep.
Also, trying to not have any loud voices or sounds around him.

Thank you all for your support, help and kindness <3

our prayers are with you and your baby, Ned!!

Ned, I am so glad to hear he is still hanging in there....what a tough bird!....I would try and give him some millet, if you have some or can get some. he needs to eat a little bit, birds can only go for so long without food. do you by any chance have any hand feeding formula you can get your hands on??, that would be your best option.

If not see if you can get some liquid vitamins and put it into the water that you are giving him.

other than that, I would take him back to the vets, if you think he can withstand the stress.

I have millets! I'll try feeding it to him. What's a feeding formula? Do I buy it or make it myself?
I have vitamin D that I use for myself, can I give it to him? Or they have special things?

only feed him cockatiel food, not finch food.
but I guess right now anything is better than nothing.

what I am concerned about is if he does not feel like eating, than we can't make him eat.

you could try the millet, most birds INHALE that and really enjoy it, but there is NO nutritional value in it. :(

we really need to address the antibiotic issue first rather than food.this is frustrating!!! I feel so badly for you.

but that won't help at the moment....don't give him YOUR vit.D, it is designed for humans not birds.

hand feeding formula is designed to feed chicks, it contains lots of protein, and vitamins.
most adult birds LOVE it and will take it readily.

if your bird wants to move around let him, but only to a certain extent. do not let him fly, just to walk and perch only.

I have contacted a friend of mine who lives in Arabia as well, hopefully he will e-mail me back and help you find the items you are looking for...

Trill is fine for a cockatiel, but I think they're talking about getting a paste/liquid type thing that you can syringe? Someone feel free to correct me if wrong.

Best thing to do really is just provide food and water low enough so he doesn't have to clamber to get to them, and low perches with a soft 'landing' if he falls. Try to stop all flying for now, we don't want any more injuries.

Edit: didn't see it was 'finch' Trill. Trill as a brand, is generally fine for a 'tiel. But you have to look for the ones that are budgie/tiels on the front.

Thank you so much for all the information! Insha'Allah I'll go to the pet store and get the vitamins and try to find a feeding formula. Does it have to be parrot pellets? or can I use this one [here]

Trill is an Australian brand of birdseed mixes, Ned, although repackaged for the ME market. We're talking about parrot pellets, of which there are many brands and types. If you can get Trill you'd be wanting the cockatiel mix (has a cockatiel on the front!) but that's for later. I think when people suggested millet for your bird, they meant millet sprays, which are also sold by Trill and many others, that is, millet still attached to stalks. You don't generally find parrot pellets in supermarkets, you'd need to find a pet shop or bird shop. If they're specialised enough to have toys and cages they generally have pellets.

He would need to be eating something- a day without food is a long time for a bird. They generally eat from dawn to dusk....

Yes I know, I was wondering if I can use that to make a paste of it, but since its finch food thats not gonna work.

I didn't put him in his cage since he really hates it there and hasn't been in it for over 4 months. He's on a thin futon now on the ground so I can lay next to him at night and be around him more easily.

He is not trying to fly or even move now. Just stretching his wings from time to time.

Ned, the Trill you showed is indeed finch food, it's a different mix to what you'd find in Trill Cockatiel, Small Parrot or Budgie mixes. Regardless, they're mixes of various seeds, and not suitable to be made into a paste. You'd need parrot pellets, which are made from seed, one assumes, but only available from pet stores, usually. If you can't get hold of any, millet sprays may be more acceptable to your bird in the short term, but he'll need a more balanced diet as soon as he's eating normally. Greens and a proper cockatiel seed mix.

Dear Ned, my heart goes out to you and your injured baby. You both are in my thoughts and I am wishing for him to get well.

UPDATE: I went to the best and begist shop and they didn't have pallets BUT the guy in the shop gave me [this] Its called "VitaLife ProVitin Plus" and for baby parrots of all kinds including teil. He said I can crush it, add water and give it to him. I also got [this] "Vita Fit Multivitamin" I was told to put 2 drops if the water bottle is small.

Kai is still alive thank God, there is no bleeding from anywhere and after 2 hours it will be48 hours since hes accident. However, his eyes are shut, I'm not sure he is able to open them. Its been so since yesterday at first I was glad he's resting now I'm a bit worried. Also, he is not drinking water or opening his mouth. I'm scared to handle his head since his injury is located there. Advice?

About feeding him, do I have to boil the water then let it cool or just use warm water? As for the vitamins I'm thinking one drop in the plastic syringe is enough, right?

Is it okay by forum rules to post his pictures here? I just want you guys to see how its like with hes eyes and peak cause I think the blood is closing them shut! Just now he tried to fly but the poor thing is sooo weak he's wings just flap.

How can I open his mouth?

I'm glad your cockatiel is still holding on. I don't have a lot of input unfortunately, but just wanted you to know I have been following this thread and hoping your bird recovers.

Yes it is ok to post his pictures on this forum. I am still praying for both of you! I can tell you really love him and are doing your best to do everything you possibly can to help him recover. I will continue to follow this post. Thanks for sharing!

I'm surprised no one has brought this up (or maybe I missed it??) But with a head injury there is a high likelihood that your Cockatiel does not have the strength to eat on his own and/or is in too much pain. Get food into him via disposable syringe asap!
In my (limited) experience, birds that keep their eyes closed constantly die within 24 hours. Please get food into him! Use warm water to make a thick soup, you don't have to boil it.

I'd say post pics on here if you think it will help. Find a way to get food into him

they did tell me to do that. but someone also said not to force feed him which is making me helpless. Kai will not open his mouth and i don't think its by choice. I think the blood dried and just closed his mouth if you guys know wat i mean. What should I do? How do I open his mouth?
