I recently noticed a sort of large green/yellow coloration on both sides of my cockatiel's tongue
I'm not sure what it is, I originally thought it was poop and tried to clean it out of her mouth, nothing happened I'm worried that it is some kind of infection, I'm pretty far away from any avian vets, we have been traveling a lot back and forth from West Texas to East Texas and I question if that has anything to do with the coloration either.. I'm super worried and not sure what to do
She won't stay still enough of open her mouth for a photo

Looks like there are a ton of avian vets in TX- I know it's a big state, but many of us drive at least an hour to get to a vert-- sometimes 3-5.

Here is one: I am not sure how far it is from you though:2700 W, TX-114 Building 2 Ste A, Grapevine, TX 76051

I know this is off the beaten path but you mention traveling between west and east Texas. When heading east on I-20, if you will drop down and get on U.S 377 between Dublin and Stephenville Tx. About half way between towns you will see Greens Creek Vet on your left. If your travel day happens to be on a Wednesday thru Sunday, ask for Dr. Brian Drew. He is our vet for a rather large flock. Not only has he breed and raised many hundreds of cockatiels, he is also well versed on not only these birds but many others as well. He has 10 cockatoos on his farm now and is about to get in to tiels again......with my help. One of our babies will be going too him.
