Recently introduced my GCC to Harrison's bird bread, which she's crazy about. She's not a big fan of pellets, and I notice she seed-seeks in her food, which consists of Harrison's pellets (fine & superfine), different sorts of crushed nutriberries, perhaps a bit of crushed avi-cakes. She will eat zupreem fruity, but I don't trust those at all. I'm wondering if bird-bread is adequate for the pellet portion of her diet, and feed her what she wants for the rest. And of course, she gets a wide (and growing) variety of fresh produce, and morning cooked stuff.

:mad:Thanks Wendy. Yup just checked it out, and it said smaller birds should have less pellet because of the danger of kidney problems. There's so much out there, so confusing, and I never feel like I'm doing good enough.

Since Nikka is a conure, she should be fine on a diet of 50% or more of pellets. The kidney problems are actually directed more towards budgies, cockatiels, grass parakeets, maybe rosellas, parrotlets and perhaps even lovebirds.

You can still try using some ideas from that thread! And if she loves seeds so much, start feeding her sprouts instead! Sprouts, pellets and fresh foods make for a pretty good diet!

Lol! You're a mind reader because I'm sprouting some stuff for her now. :)

Hope she loves them!
