The weather is beautiful and warm here in South Africa today, our summer time, extremely hot.
I sat with Mishka outside on the balcony, for about an hour and a half.
Our balcony is enclosed with buglar bars, which is great, but we have a cat living next door, who often wanders onto our balcony.
Later on I brought Mishka inside, placed him on his playstand.
I left the balcony door open, but only one side.
I was watching a movie, Mishka happily playing away, ringing his bell.
A while later Mishka climbs down, and begins to walk around.
Suddenly in the corner of my eye, I saw a movement, Mishka screamed mommy mommy...... the cat had come in through the balcony door, facing Mishka face to face.
I immediately stood between Mishka and the cat, the cat began growling.
I thought don't scream, it would scare both of them.
Rather let the cat attack me, than Mishka.
I was trying to block Mishka, that the cat could not see him.
All Mishka was saying was mommy mommy, I wanted to cry.
I tried to shew the cat away, he would not budge, he was ready to attack.
I screamed to Mishka cellphone cellphone, and thank God Mishka began making the ringtone of my cellphone. The cat got such a fright, he turned to run out, and ran straight into the glass part of the door that was closed.
In two seconds he was gone.
Mishka climbed back onto his playpen, as if nothing had happened.
I must video Mishka immitating my cellphone ring....... he does it so well, but a million times louder.
I do not think the cat will be "visiting" any time soon. but tomorrow I am going to chat to my neighbour.
Thank God I did not fall asleep, Mishka could have had a tragic ending....
