We work long hours and I feel guilty for leaving Sterretjie by herself for 8+ hours a day, so I did get her a friend. :D I've been wanting to do it for a long time and were weighing the ups and downs, at the end the guilt of keeping her alone just did not go away.

I dont know if he is a boy or a girl yet but that is ok. He is 10 weeks old and on 3 formulas a day. My daughter said that she will stay by us until end of Feb to look after Sunny during the quarantine time and the introducing time. Ant you will know what INCREDIBLE news that is !!!!

I know that we have discussed this and I have to put myself last. I know in my heart that I've done the right thing for Sterretjie. IRN's are flock birds and needs companionship 24/7, I cant give that to her. I did not like seeing her sitting all by herself, as if something is missing in her life.

I am just praying that they will like each other.

Linky, sunny is tooooooooooooooooooo beautiful OMG I am in love again LoL
He is so so cute, and cuddly awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Praying Sterretjie will accept him,
perhaps the new addition will calm her down

Guess Mishka will have to learn his new cousin's name

You are so in tune to your flock there is no way this could turn out anyway but wonderful for all. Sunny is just too cute for words. Like the name too. Where did you get him??

It is unreal to experience the difference between a normal bird and an abused bird. Sunny isnt afraid of anything, he isnt aggressive and is seeking human contact ALL the time. Last night after Sterretjie gone to bed Sunny sat in his box by us in the kitchen. He managed to clime out of his box and walked all the way to the closest foot he could find and then climbed all the way up Craig's leg and snuggled himself in under Craig's shirt.:D What an experience!!!

I went back to the aviary and this time I spoke to the owner, it turns out that Sunny was born on the 12th of November and he is therefore definitely not 11 weeks old.

He was tube fed and I had no problem converting him to normal syringe feeding. It was so funny to see his expression when he tasted the food for the first time. :D He is already eating squash, pumpkin etc. that I mash up and give with a spoon.

He is very 'talkative' and even talks in his sleep. I will load a video soon.:D

How lovely!

Thank gooness that you were the one to take him home and not someone who knew nothing omg.....

Cannot wait to hear him yabber on! :D:D:D
