Found him on criagslist & went to pick him up the weekend before Valentine's. I originally thought he was a she so her name until like 2days ago was Lila (Leela) coz it sounded nice with Loqui (Loki). Loqui & Lila, see?

But I caught him humping Loqui 2days ago which then lead me to believe she's actually a HE which then lead to a name change. I'm trying out Shiloh for now. I like it but it just doesn't go as well with Loqui as Lila did. I might just change it to Lilo.. Loqui & Lilo.. sounds okay I guess. (I go thru a billion & one names always when naming my pets LOL so don't be surprised if it changes a few more times before I settle on one )

Anyway, I know everyone wants to see pictures so here goes

God, I love em <3 I was worried at first about getting a second but two is definitely better than one.

Haha, yes he does! Shiloh's the more rambunctiousness of the two, definitely. He's more the hyperactive, get-into-everything, type of personality you read about in green cheeks. Loqui is a little more quiet & relaxed but he has his moments too lol.

^_^' ah I don't really plan on breeding them. I don't think the humping that took place the other day actually got anything done. Shiloh was on top doin his thing & Loqui just stepped over to the side like "What is wrong with you?" haha. Does Shiloh's humping indicate that he knows Loqui is female?? or will males also hump other males? (They're not DNA sexed yet)

& I don't have a nest box in there so I hope they don't lay eggs!
I can't lie babies would be cute tho :X lol

I was lucky that Shiloh was very socialized. He had been around other birds and his last owner even trained him to do tricks like wave & spin around (I can't for the life of me get him to do any of them tho) So from day one Shiloh was perched on my finger playing with earrings & just being crazy. Plus he is very young & around Loqui's age so I guess that helps.
Loqui's hatchdate is 4/15/11 & Shiloh's is 4/27/11.

The previous owner also said he had been to a vet & was given a clean bill of health so I only quarantined for about two weeks. I know It's supposed to me for a month+ but I couldn't resist letting them meet :X ! Shiloh just got acquainted here so easily. He took everything in stride.
They were first in separate cages, for a those two weeks in separate rooms. Then I brought Shiloh's cage into my room and let him out while Loqui watched from the cage. As soon as he saw there was another bird in the room he was glued to Loqui's cage! lol

Loqui at first lunged at him thru the bars & gave Shiloh a little scab in his toe but once I let Loqui out and had Shiloh in his cage Loqui just seemed curious. So after a few hrs when they both calmed down & got used to lookin at each other I took them both out & fed them each a half of an orange so they wouldn't be 100% focused on each other. They ate pretty calmly. Loqui seemed to want to dominate tho. He felt this was his room & his cage & HIS oranges lol. But other than stealing his orange slice (only leaving his own unattended for Shiloh to eat from) he was okay w Shiloh. In fact for the first few days he wouldn't stop preening Shiloh & rubbing his head on him asking to be preened! much to Shiloh's annoyance lol.

They then started doing things together & wanting to be around each other. Within a few days from that I felt it was okay for them to sleep in Loqui's cage together at night but have both cages available during the day in case they wanted it. They had a few squabbles over the bowl but no biggie I just added another one.
After that it all seemed to fall into place. They barely squabble over anything anymore. Sometimes I catch them playing with each other. One will stick his feet on the others face & they'll push each other back & forth. When one has a toy the other drops his own toy & wants the one that's already taken lol. This ends in a lot of tug of wars... Just basically lots of cute stuff happens when you have two birds lol.

You get to watch your birds interact in a way you would never see if you only had one. I'll admit me & Loqui aren't as close as we used to be before I got Shiloh. I actually have to make an effort to give each of them equal one on one attention to keep our bond strong but I think it's a good trade off for him to be happy with his own kind & have a kind of companionship that I can't really give him like another bird can.

I had no idea honestly they would get along so well & that's why I was so nervous about getting a second but in the end I'm glad I did.

Thank you! Blue is my favorite color too! That's why my first choice was a turquoise baby <3 haha the second one was rehomed so I had no choice of color
