Hello Everyone, would like to share this quite busy weekend we had with Eurasian Jay.

So they started to build a nest under our roof earlier but after 1-2 weeks did not see them coming so thought they had found a better place. Just a week ago my daughter said she saw a little bald head in the nest. Could not believe her first, but she was right and turned out there were 4 babies quite big actually .
Last weekend my husband saw one of the little one flying-falling out of the nest following with other 2. They landed in our garden which was great. Unfortunately one of them was heading to the main street so I decided to get him back to the garden. Tried to wave him back but seeing is not working picked him up and brought it back to garden. Of course he was screaming his lung out - and down came one of the parents and I got a really hard bump on the head.:)
Last baby was still in the nest in the evening and started to worry that parents might have left him. Finally they managed to persuade him to get out but saw that he was much smaller and less developed than his siblings.
This little one was so weary he kept falling and finally went to rest under our tomato bushes..the others were lead by parents so he was left. As it was getting dark I scopped him up and took him inside for his own safety.
Next day the siblings were still in the garden waiting for mam and dad all day, do not know where they spent the night. I saw that they were sitting on our fence and sometimes jumped down to the pavement -which was not a good way for them. I kept an eye on them all day , unfortunately needed to leave home in the afternoon coming home for the awfull scenne that one of them was hit by a car.
So we kept the smallest one in hope to release him soon . I realised our trambulin is a good way to keep him safe (no predators really ), but let him try his wings. He is back in the house for the night but outside for daytime. To my amusement the parents check him regulary .(do not feed him- though). He is eating well and getting stronger.

update on this little one: he nearly finished first molt, waiting for flight feathers to be fully grown and he will be free. Right now he can only fly short distances and very low max. 1 meter from the ground so working on this
