Yellow-sided Green Cheek Conure - Tiki, Green Cheek Conure - Dexter
Meet Dexter.

A woman I'm friends with does bird rescue... pet and wild.

She got Dexter from a bad situation. He's missing a toe and has stress bars I think they call it (all of his feathers are edged in black poor baby). When she got him she contacted me in hopes of finding him a home.

I met him for the first time a few days ago and we were all surprised when he chriped and stepped up with no signs of aggression. He spent the next hour playing in my hair or contentedly accepting scritches on the head and neck.

I hope he likes it here!

Very cute!!! Congratulations and enjoy. They are great birds.:green1:

Dexter is a lucky little guy, having you as a guardian.
He looks absolutely adorable !!!
Sure your relationship is going to get stronger daily.
Enjoy your birdie time.
Keep us posted, with his progress.

aaaw ... he is adorable! I bet his confidence grows by the day! Lucky little guy to go from a bad situation into a loving bird home. :)

I just ordered his new flight cage and everything :) I'm so excited.

He is so cute. He looks like a black capped conure. I had the chance to play with one of these guys yesterday and the bird was really bonded with the young teen who was a flock person. The bird did willingly come to me for a while though. You will have so much fun. I love re-homing stories.

He is actually part black cap SB :) His mom was like half black cap or something. He's still pretty shy but he steps up nicely for me to put him on top of the cage for him to hang out and play.

He's probably always going to be a bit shy because he was parent raised. It's ok. For me, he doesn't have to be anything other then what he is. I love him no matter what.
